Getting this blog started with Rails 6.1, TailwindCSS 2 and Hotwire
Rails Tailwind Hotwire

Despite Because of it's simplicity, it took me quite a while to get this website started. I always got lost in the details of installing the latest Tailwind, fiddle around with the CSS, update to the latest Rails and Ruby version, try out JIT and other new possibilities.

Out of professional curiosity, I always want to try out the newest tech - so I followed DHH's Alpha preview: Rails 7 w/ esbuild + Tailwind CSS video. Unfortunately my local setup was not up to the task and I got more errors than anticipated. At some time I want to get back to it, but it took just too much time to setup for this small project.

At some point, I just wanted to get this page up-and-running. I setup a Rails 6.1 app with Hotwire and Tailwind, which should work out of the box to get a new app started. The repository is public, so if ever need a starter template, just download/fork the repository, follow the readme and you have a rails 6.1 app running with Tailwind and Hotwire.

I guess Rails 7 just has to wait... 🙄
